STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI

STORY: B+
ACTING: C+
DIRECTION: C-
VISUALS: B-

I was never a fan of the hit cartoon series or the game, Street Fighter. But that didn't stop me from watching this film.
I think its really a nice idea that they made the Prequels first before they made the main movie (STREET FIGHTER). Unlike the Xmen Series, they made the main movie and its sequels before they made the Prequel (Xmen Origins: Wolverine). This is a good preparation for the next streetfighter films.
The movie talks about he life of Chun-Li and how she got her powers abd how she was recruited to join the STREET FIGHTER.
The movie was nice, although they made some flaws:

At first, I thought that the narration was a good idea, but as the movie got longer, I felt that it was very disturbing. Especially the part where she narrated "BISON IS HERE IN BANGKOK" .... Hello, like its very obvious.

I was really expecting that the role of Vega(Taboo) was going to be long, I thouht that he was the main villain, because in the poster they put so much emphasis on Vega, so I was really dissapointed when his scene just lasted for 5 minutes. VERY DISSAPOINTING.

The acting wasn't that great, I thought that this film was the first big-budgeted film of 2009 but it was not, they used actors that didn't performed well. of course Kristin Kreuk did great, she was the life of the film, but Taboo and Klein, they killed the film.

The effects are good enough, except for the final battle scene where Chun-Li unleashed an energy ball to Bison, it wasn't pretty. But aside from that, everything was good.

The directon, I can say, wasn't that good but it wasn't hat bad either, the director should have put emphasis on every character, He should have put enough time for the audience to enjoy thae characters they want to see. He should have done something wonderful to capture the attention of the audience.

But, I think the movie wasn't that bad, just good enough to entertain the audience. Kristin Kreuk did a great job, she knows where to put herself, she knows how to handle her character. She is very flexible, she's good in everything in action, sexy and drama.

the The stunts are great and the fight scenes are really fantastic, I love the first part where someone shot an arrow to Chun-Li's dad and he used the Fridge's door as a shield, kinda reminded me of Smallville.

Overall, its a nice movie, for those who loved the cartoon series and the game, I bet you're gonna like this film.
